This old house nestled in nicely against the drama of a huge sky in Bodie State Park in Northern California was a good time for a combination of moonlight photography and star trails. A 30 minute exposure at f4 didn't give long star trails, but the half moon provided enough light to give detail in the foreground and a nice overall balance. An added bonus was the sweeping clouds, which had faded into a misty look, due to enough winds at higher altitudes that kept them on the move. Clouds can sometimes make a photo, so don't necessarily fret their presence.
