ylw-text.gif Lightning Storm Thunder storms are common in the high desert from late spring through the summer. If you can avoid getting wet, it's easy to set up your camera on a tripod, and leave the shutter open for 30 second intervals (f/3.5 in this case), you're bound to get a good shot.
