History is evident everywhere in the Czech Republic, as I found when I
lead this photo expedition with
Wilderness Travel.
From fairytale castles built by feudal lords to 13th century villages
made prosperous by the medieval trade caravans that once passed this
way, there's hardly a better place in Europe for a journey built around
country walks. Decades of post-war isolation have left the medieval
towns of the Czech countryside intact and thoroughly enchanting. One
example is Telc, one of the best-preserved Renaissance towns in all
Europe, which we first see as we walk through its arched town gates at
the end of a memorable day's hike. Along with gems such as the turreted
city of Cesky Krumlov and our grand finale in enchanting Prague, this
adventure features astounding architecture, castle-to-castle hikes, and
a chance to experience the Czech Republic's lively cultural renaissance.
