Circumcision ()
This photo series illustrates the entire process of a circumcision. A local anesthetic is applied, and after a few short minutes, the area is numb. The baby has fallen asleep before the procedure begins a minute later. (And, he slept through the whole thing.) These photos are not for everyone, especially those squeamish about surgical procedures, or who are against circumcision as a general practice. It is not my position to weigh in on the controversy.

However, the front page of the Wall Street Journal on July 5, 2005 shows a Study Showing Circumcision Reduces AIDS Risk by 70%. Also, the New York Times addresses the issue in an article titled, Circumcision Studied in Africa as AIDS Preventive
